Joy is Feedom

After a forced hiatus from their annual 4 day Afro Fusion Arts camping festival, Hannabiell Sanders & Yilis Suriel teamed up with the Cumberland Arms to bring a taste of Harambee Pasadia to Newcastle City Center. ‘Joy is Freedom’ will take place on Juneteenth (also known as Liberation or Freedom Day) a holiday celebrating the emancipation of those who had been enslaved in the United States.

‘Joy is Freedom’ is a celebration to acknowledge our progress, diversity, and commitment to support, learn, and grow together. An opportunity to refuel, reflect and be inspired by Afro Fusion Arts.
